Greetings from GLS Law College

GLS Law College was established in the year 2015. In the short span of five years, the college has emerged as the top ranking national institution. The five years experience was pleasant in many ways. GLS Law College is a new entrant of International Association of Law Schools (IALS). We are part of the voice of the global legal education community.

This year, the college successfully organised international conference on green justice. The conference drew 292 dignitaries from 16 countries and 11 states. On equal footing, the national moot competition drew participation from all over the country. Our students participated in many national debate and moot court competitions, won trophies and brought laurels for the college. In the last five years, we focussed on contemporary legal issues by organising special lecture, workshop and extension activities by our twin clinics - Legal Aid Clinic and Environmental Law Clinic.

Since beginning, we have emphasised on skill development of the students. Thus, practical training was imparted by moot court presentations, counselling of litigants and mentorship of students by the retired High Court judges. The students obtained internship work experience at High Court and subordinate courts. The students rendered legal aid services in urban slum and rural areas. Apart from academics, the college organised national level sports fest.

The first batch of students passed out this year after completing five year programme. Among the passed out, many opted higher education or litigation services and some joined corporate firms.

The Covid 19 pandemic has caused disruption to academic activities. Despite the difficulties, the college shall engage with students through virtual platforms. I advise the students to avail all the virtual services in the pandemic situation.
